British Birds is a Chorley-based musical collaboration that embodies a DIY ethos and a nostalgic charm, transporting listeners back to the tactile joy of physical music creation. Their sound pulls on the listener’s ear with jangly, catchy hooks, lullaby-like melodies, and a sobering melancholy, before snapping them back to a familiar, grounded reality.
Fully committed to their craft, British Birds handle every aspect of their artistry—from designing artwork and screen-printing merch to recording, producing, and releasing their music independently. This hands-on approach has earned them recognition from BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing Lancashire, and Louder Than War Magazine.
At the heart of their timeless psych-rock sound is frontman Bobby Mambo, supported by Ellie Winstanley on bass and backing vocals, and Emma Townson, who brings percussion, keys, and additional harmonies to complete the lineup.
